An Interview With Kate Mallinder

Interview Header

I was lucky enough this year to be involved with the release of Kate Mallinder’s Summer Of No Regrets, and was very kindly gifted a copy of the book from Firefly Publishing.  I absolutely adored her debut novel (my full review is HERE), so wanted to get the chance to speak to Kate about her book and how she’s found the writing process!

Keep reading for my interview with Kate about everything summer, best friends and powering through writing!

My YALC Reading Slump

YALC HeaderWith YALC this month, I should probably be reading my YALC tbr…but I hate the word ‘should’ and I’m really not feeling it! I still want to read all of the books on it, just not right now. To be honest, I’ve not read loads the past few months anyway, partially because I haven’t had chance as well as being in a bit of a slump. I wanted to get my feelings out about all this because I feel kind of bad about it even though there’s no reason to! Continue reading “My YALC Reading Slump”

After the Fire by Will Hill (BEDM)

Book Review HeaderI picked this up before NYALitFest as Will Hill was going to be there and I thought this book sounded really interesting and quite different. I’m morbidly fascinated by cults (I think most people who I’ve spoken to are) and this is all about a young girl who was in a cult dealing with life straight after a huge disaster. Girls of Paper and Fire by Natasha Ngan

Book Review Header

I’m not normally a huge reader of fantasy but so far this year I’ve dug into Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi and now Girls of Paper and Fire by Nastasha Ngan – both of which I have loved! GOPAF was our Book Club pick for April and I truly adored it. I was unsure how I’d feel but I was so into it and I loved talking about it at Book Club (which I’ll upload a post about on Monday). I read most of this whilst sat in the wonderful weather over the Easter weekend – there’s no better way of spending a hot, sunny day than going for walks in beautiful places and sitting reading a good book outdoors! On with the review…

The Meaning Of Birds by Jaye Robin Brown

Book Review Header

*The book discussed in this post has been gifted by Harper Teen*

Months ago when this book was announced, admittedly i only checked it out because of the stunning cover it has. It’s absolutely beautiful and once i found out what it was about, it seemed right up my street. I was lucky enough that Harper Teen gifted me some copies for myself and to share out to the bloggers that come to our LGBTQ+ book club!

An Interview with Simon James Green and L. C. Rosen

Interview Header

A little while ago i was lucky enough to interview Simon James Green, author of Noah Can’t Even and Noah Could Never, and also L. C. Rosen (Lev), author of Jack Of Hearts (and Other Parts). It was one of the most wonderful interviews i’ve had the pleasure of holding. It was really interesting to talk to two fellow LGBTQ+ community members and their opinions of YA and where they think LGBTQ+ is going in YA. I absolutely loved doing this interview and i hope you enjoy reading it!
