Not So Pure and Simple is a book that i was really excited about being released in 2020. I’ve had a proof copy for a couple of months and finally got around to reading it before its release, i read it, i absolutely loved it.
We read Heartstopper: Volume Two for our August LGBTQ+ Book Club read and I absolutely adored it! I was so excited to get my hands on this book. Holly writes incredible YA fiction (and an adult novel debut), and they always focus on something that isn’t discussed very often or in-depth. When i found out that The Place I’ve Cried… was all about an abusive relationship that had broken down, i jumped at it.

With YALC this month, I should probably be reading my YALC tbr…but I hate the word ‘should’ and I’m really not feeling it! I still want to read all of the books on it, just not right now. I’m a huge fan of Juno’s work, and she’s an author that i think i will constantly support for a very very long time to come. Not only is she an incredible woman, her books are ridiculously well written and funny. So all that being said, i had high hopes for Meat Market.
I recently made a post about the tropes that i actually really enjoy in books, surprisingly, there are some that i really do enjoy. Tropes are incredibly cliched, and in some ways, every single book has some kind of trope in it. Because i’ve already talked about ones that i actually like (and because this list is probably longer), i wanted to talk about the ones that i hate.
