Candice Carty-Williams – Queenie Event At Manchester Deansgate Waterstones

Event Header

Yesterday we had the absolute pleasure of attending an event with Candice Carty-Williams at Deansgate Waterstones in Manchester. They were trailing a new kind of event that was open to the public however allowed bloggers to take the lead afterwards. Candice stuck around for a chat with the bloggers and we got to ask as many questions about Queenie and about her publishing career as we could.

Markus Zusak Event (Blogmas)

Event HeaderAt the end of October, me, Sarah and our friend, Louise, got tickets to a talk and signing with Markus Zusak at Waterstones Deansgate in Manchester. I was so excited because I adore The Book Thief and definitely see it as one of my favourite books. After a long 13 year wait (something he kept bringing up himself!) for his next book, it’s finally here! The event and signing was to celebrate his new novel, Bridge of Clay, which I’m currently reading.  Continue reading “Markus Zusak Event (Blogmas)”

An Interview With Alwyn Hamilton

Interview Header

A couple of weeks ago, me and Sarah had the opportunity to interview Alwyn Hamilton, author of the Rebel of the Sands series! It was so wonderful to be able to meet her and ask questions and we honestly learned a lot and took away some brilliant writing advice. She is a lovely human being and we had such a wonderful chat! We wanted to know mainly about writing and Alwyn’s process when writing her books. A big thanks to Kimi at Teensgate for the opportunity!

February 2018 Book Haul

Book Haul Header

I was expecting some kind of book haul in February. It’s my birthday, which is a big mix of gifts, treats for myself (surely i’m not the only person who treats themselves on their birthday?) and holidays. I’m going to stop presuming they’ll be no more book hauls and just accept that i really like books. Here are the ones that i got in the month of February, it’s quite a substantial haul.

An Evening With Lauren James

Event Header

The hype for this event seemed to be massive on Twitter, and surely a lot of that came off the back of the success of The Loneliest Girl In The Universe, Lauren’s third YA novel. It was the most talked about book at YALC this year and had a huge release back in September during the height of the space themed novels that hit our shelves.
