It’s the first Top 5 Wednesday of the month! This weeks topic is the goals that we want to achieve in 2017. These can be blog or channel goals, reading goals or even personal goals. The possibilities are endless on this post! I was planning to make a ‘bookish resolutions’ post at some point, but maybe that information is better off in here. I have few goals i want to achieve this year with the blog and reading, so here they are.
This weeks Top 5 Wednesday is based around New Year! It’s quickly approaching, just in a few days, and i’m excited to find out what the new year will bring in the case of reading. But before that, i got to think about all the characters i love, and the ones that i would want around me bringing in the new year. I thought about this quite a lot, because you’d want the most special people around, the ones that you think you’d get on with best. Christmas is only a few days away! Is everyone ready? Bought all your presents and eaten a mince pie? Good! This weeks Top 5 Wednesday is the 5 fictional items that you would give as gifts. These gifts can be anything from TV, book, or movie, the limits are endless when it just says ‘fictional items’. I sadly spend a lot of my time thinking about fictional items, things that i’d want, things that are useful or just something that’s really cool that you can show off you own (yes, i’m one of those people). This week is a little different as it is open to TV as well as books and I thought I would take up that opportunity and make this post a mixture between the two (I say, adding only one TV show). We have all experienced the feeling of picking up a book or starting a show and it’s brilliant and when you find out it’s a series, even better. Until you start to read or watch the next one and it all begins to snowball downhill… Here’s five of my choices!

I’ve been really excited about this particular topic as I love finding interesting villains who are brilliant characters. There’s nothing better than reading a book and finding the villain to be just as interesting (if not more) than the protagonist and the heroes of the story. Normally, my first choice would be Bellatrix (I could write a whole post on her alone) but I’m going to be avoiding Harry Potter characters for this week as I want to mention some who maybe aren’t as obvious.
This weeks Top 5 Wednesday post is the five books that i want to re-read the most. I have never been a lover of re-reading books unless i’m absolutely obsessed with them, i don’t see the point in revisiting stories unless you really really want to. But there are some books that i will re-read over and over again and still love. Here are the books that i currently want to re-read.
This weeks top 5 Wednesday is about my favourite publishers. This is quite a strange thing for a top 5 Wednesday i think, as we usually think about the books that we’ve read and what did or didn’t like about them. This week i’ll be thinking about the publishing houses and what great books i think they produce. If you browse through your shelves often, you’ll notice that many of your favourite books are all from the same publishers. They generally have a set ‘type’ of novel they are looking for, and someone who often reads the same genre will be used to buying from the same publisher knowingly. As a bit of a creative writing nerd (i studied it at university), publishing houses intrigue me. Here are my favourite publishing houses.
