*Thank you to Hatchette Kids for sending me a copy of Floored and letting me be apart of the blog tour promo team for this book*
Floored has been one of my most anticipated books of this year since i found out about it. The idea behind the book is challenging to say the least, with Sara Barnard, Melinda Salisbury, Non Pratt, Holly Bourne, Eleanor Wood, Lisa Williamson and Tanya Byrne all involved in the writing of Floored. It sounded like it was going to be a wild ride and i had high hopes on it being excellent as i have already adored the work of these authors for a long time.
Yesterday, I had the chance to go to an event at Manchester Waterstones all about the BAME anthology, A Change is Gonna Come. If you follow our blog here or over on Twitter you will have most likely seen that we read this for our read-along two weeks ago (if not, how on earth have you missed it?) This made for such interesting conversations and also made it feel more relatable in many ways. The authors on the panel were Tanya Byrne, Yasmin Rahman, Phoebe Roy, Mary Bello and Aisha Bushby! Also, a big thanks to Charlie from Stripes Publishing who led the questions and was also really lovely to meet!
It’s day 9 of our read-along which means we only have four left including today’s! In case you’ve somehow missed it on our blog and twitter (where have you been?) we are doing a read-along blog tour of the BAME anthology, A Change is Gonna Come. Im absolutely loving the book so far – I’ve found something in each and every story or poem that I love, and that’s such a wonderful feeling. Continue reading
