I have a huge problem with rereading. I don’t mean that I hate it, I just mean that I constantly reread books (or want to at least). For the past two years, one of my resolutions is to reread less and make sure I pick up a new book or one that’s been gathering dust for the past few months or years on my shelf. I first read The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky back in 2012 just before the movie was released. I read it with my then seventeen year old naïve mind. Recently I have been deciding what text I want to study for my dissertation (I was between Perks or The Catcher in the Rye) so I figured it was about time to reread Perks to refresh my memory and make a decision.
