We have officially had our book club running for a year! Our online version started earlier than this but this last one was our twelfth session! This is super exciting and we are so happy we are growing and people are enjoying it as much as we are. We had such a fab little evening with regular book club goers and some newcomers too! The book was George by Alex Gino, a middle grade book about a transgender girl wanting to be seen as a girl by others too. Continue reading “LGBTQ+ Book Club Night 12 – George”
The book discussed in this post was gifted from the publisher.
Last summer, Stripes announced their new anthology, curated by the absolute queen of YA fiction, Juno Dawson. We went to see their cover reveal at YALC last year for the anthology and that definitely got us even more excited for the release of Proud. Myself and Sophie are huge fans and supporters of Stripes. They have some wonderful books and authors under their belt, and i am always excited to see what they’re releasing next.
I cannot believe how quickly this years read-along has gone. To be honest, how quickly December has gone in 2017. We started our read-along this year on the 11th of December, and we always aim to have it completed on the 24th, which is today!
Our read-along for I’ll Be Home For Christmas started on Monday. We’re reading one story from the short story collection a day until Christmas Eve. I was very much excited about this years festive read-along, chatting to friends about wonderfully festive stories? The best way to get in to the festive spirit!
Today is the day that we start our eagerly awaited read-along! We have been hosting read-alongs on this blog for as long as we’ve been running it (over two years now, can you believe it?) and this Christmas is no different! A few weeks ago we announced that our read-along book will be I’ll Be Home For Christmas, a collection of short stories from a load of our favourite YA authors!
We announced our read-along for I’ll Be Home For Christmas a few weeks back, and it officially starts in just a few days (11th of December to the 24th if anyone is interested in joining in still)! I’m so excited to get to our read-along this year, and what’s even more exciting is that we are hosting the blog tour for the read-along!
The time is upon us, and that time is Christmas time. Each year so far on the blog we’ve organised a Christmas Read-Along. Mainly so myself and Sophie have an excuse to read something together. But last year so many of you got involved in our read-along of My True Love Gave To Me it became a whole lot more community based and exciting! It fueled us to do a very similar event this year!
