Everyone in the U.K. YA community knows who Lucy Powrie is. She’s been masterminding U.K. YA for quite some time now, and it took over the community when she announced the release of her debut novel, The Paper & Hearts Society.

The Taste Of Blue Light by Lydia Ruffles

Book Review Header

The Taste of Blue Light was recommended to me by so many people it was hard not to pick it up. When Lydia got announced for YALC i knew that i should probably start this book sooner rather than later, and i’m really glad i didn’t leave it sitting on my TBR pile for long.

Caraval by Stephanie Garber – Review

Book Review Header

Everyone (including like your stepmum’s nephews dog) is talking about this book. As Stephanie Garber’s debut novel, a huge hype has surrounded Caraval since last summer when the ARC’s were being handed out to the lucky chosen ones. I tried to get my hands on an ARC at YALC last year, and after being unsuccessful, had to resort to reading it when it was released. But, boy was it worth the wait.

Carrie by Stephen King

Book Review Header

I’ve been meaning to read Carrie for a long time, and after reading The Mist by Stephen King earlier this year, i wanted to try and improve my view on his writing (i wasn’t the biggest fan). Panic by Lauren Oliver

Book Review HeaderPanic was the first book that i ever bought of Lauren Oliver’s. Since that day two years ago, i’ve managed to accumulate almost everything she’s written, without reading a single one. I figured (as her latest book Replica is due to be released shortly), i should probably get reading one of these books, as everyone talks about Lauren Oliver all the time. I started with Panic.

The 100 by Kass Morgan

Book Review Header

I picked up The 100 a long time ago back when the TV series started, in hope that i would read the book and then dive right in to the series. That didn’t happen. About a year ago i tried watching one episode of it and couldn’t focus, so ultimately gave up. I had little hope for this novel as i was losing interest. That was until i found out that Kass Morgan would be talking on the YA Rebellion talk at YALC and figured i should probably read it. I was surprised.

Alice and The Fly by James Rice

Book Review Header

I picked up Alice and the Fly not to long as a spontaneous purchase. I’ve been trying very hard not to just pick up random books that I’ve not researched in to, because chances are I’ll lose interest very quickly and it would be once big waste of money. But the cover stood out to me and the story sounded interesting so I thought I’d give it a go.
