My Relationship with Bookstagram

Thoughts HeaderHello lovely people! Today is a very hot day in Manchester (a true rarity) and I’m lucky enough to have a garden so I can sit out in the sun to read and write. We set up an Instagram for our blog around 18 months ago now and I am truly so glad we did. I personally really like Instagram the most out of all the social media platforms out there. I find it to be the most positive, which is heavily down to who you choose to follow, and I enjoy that is is so visual. I’ve been thinking a bit about bookstagram lately and wanted to write my thoughts down. Continue reading “My Relationship with Bookstagram”

Reading Intentions Update

Chat HeaderFor me, reading goals are quite flexible and I change them throughout the year. I start with a few intentions at the start of each year however I don’t always stick to these and I change them depending on how I’m feeling and what I’m doing at that point. I thought I’d write a little update (mainly for myself as a little bookish check-in) to see what may have changed and how I’m feeling about my 2020 reads so far. Girl, Interrupted by Susanna Kaysen

Book Review HeaderA few years ago, I watched the film adaptation of Girl, Interrupted and ever since I’ve been wanting to give the book a go. I’ve been very much in a non-fiction mood recently and I’ve been taking advantage of this and reading a fair few non-fiction books on my shelves, including this memoir from Susanna Kaysen! Thoughts below. Continue reading “Girl, Interrupted by Susanna Kaysen”

The Book Shop Series – Read, Holmfirth

I’ve fallen in love with writing these posts, highlighting a book shop that i have fallen in love with, and want to share more of. In my last post, i talked about The Portal Book Shop, an LGBTQ+ book shop that i found in York on my travels. Today i wanted to talk about a lovely little place that i found somewhere i know pretty well.
