I picked this up before NYALitFest as Will Hill was going to be there and I thought this book sounded really interesting and quite different. I’m morbidly fascinated by cults (I think most people who I’ve spoken to are) and this is all about a young girl who was in a cult dealing with life straight after a huge disaster. I’m not normally a huge reader of fantasy but so far this year I’ve dug into Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi and now Girls of Paper and Fire by Nastasha Ngan – both of which I have loved! GOPAF was our Book Club pick for April and I truly adored it. I was unsure how I’d feel but I was so into it and I loved talking about it at Book Club (which I’ll upload a post about on Monday). I read most of this whilst sat in the wonderful weather over the Easter weekend – there’s no better way of spending a hot, sunny day than going for walks in beautiful places and sitting reading a good book outdoors! On with the review…
This was one of the first books I picked up at YALC and I do not regret it. It’s also the first Katherine Webber book I have read and I now can’t wait to pick up Wing Jones. The story of this is so beautiful and I really do rate it highly. Continue reading “Only Love Can Break Your Heart by Katherine Webber (Blogmas)”
I Was Born for This is my first novel by Alice Oseman that I’ve read, and I absolutely adored it. I’ve heard countless incredible things about this story, and I found not knowing anything about this story going in to it was the best thing to do. I was surprised about how much I loved it, how much it lifted me from a reading slump and how happy i felt reading it.
As many of you will know, the release of the new live-action Beauty And The Beast movie starring Emma Watson was released last week. So much hype has been around this movie, and as i’ve seen it, i can say personally i found it to be the best live-action movie Disney have made. However, because there’s a lot of hype around the story now, many books have been released either with the original story or new versions, spin offs and whatever else you can imagine starring Belle. Keep reading for some of the magical Disney books that have been released in the last few weeks!
In this post, i’m going to give you guys a list of all the books that i recommend the most to people. I mean this blog is full of my ‘winter recommendations’, ‘summer recommendations’ and ‘Christmas recommendations’, so these probably will not be much of a surprise. But these are the books that i constantly push upon people and make them read them, therefore, you probably should too!
Everyone loves to read in the winter time! It’s the perfect excuse to get cuddled up with a book and a blanket, probably a cup of tea and read a book in one sitting! Last year we compiled a list of the books that are best to read in the winter time, you can see that post HERE. This year i’ve taken it upon myself to create a new list of books that i think you should all read in the winter time. These are books that you can cuddle up with, some of them will make you happy and mushy in time for Christmas, and some of them are chilling for the colder nights. Either way, you’ll find something you love!
