Matt Haig – Notes On A Nervous Planet at HOME MCR (BEDM)

Event Header

Trigger warning: Anxiety, depression, suicide, eating disorders & in depth mental health talks later on.

A few days go, i had the pleasure of seeing Matt Haig talk again, this time at HOME in Manchester. Myself and Sophie travelled to Doncaster last year for his tour of Notes On A Nervous Planet, and hearing Matt talk about his own issues with anxiety and depression was so inspiring and relatable, i wanted to see him again.

Angie Thomas Event – Manchester

Event HeaderA few weeks ago, me and Sarah went to an event at Manchester Central Library to see Angie Thomas talk about her latest release, On The Come Up and answer some questions about it. I finished the book just after the event and absolutely adored it. If I could give it more than 5 stars out of 5, I truly would. The event was fantastic and I was so excited to see Angie speak.

Markus Zusak Event (Blogmas)

Event HeaderAt the end of October, me, Sarah and our friend, Louise, got tickets to a talk and signing with Markus Zusak at Waterstones Deansgate in Manchester. I was so excited because I adore The Book Thief and definitely see it as one of my favourite books. After a long 13 year wait (something he kept bringing up himself!) for his next book, it’s finally here! The event and signing was to celebrate his new novel, Bridge of Clay, which I’m currently reading.  Continue reading “Markus Zusak Event (Blogmas)”

Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera Interview

Interview HeaderAt the end of October, we got the amazing opportunity to interview Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera before their event about their co-written novel, What If It’s Us. It was such a brilliant day and I loved being surrounded by others who love their stories. I feel so lucky that we got the chance to do this as they have both written stories that I completely adore so it was lovely to be able to chat to them about their joint one! Keep reading for the interview (by two best friends, for two best friends – wholesome!) Continue reading “Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera Interview”

Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera Book Event

Event Header

I am still finding it hard to process that i’ve actually met Becky and Adam. It felt like i’d been waiting years for this event, and honestly i was stunned that it happened at all. They’re such huge names in YA and even the world now after the success of Love, Simon and it was wonderful to hear them talk in Manchester.
