LGBTQ+ Book Club – Heartstopper: Volume One

image1Our latest Book Club meet up was last Thursday, a week later than usual as we were both away in London for YALC the week before. We decided to read Heartstopper: Volume One by Alice Oseman for July, a graphic novel developed from her webcomics. You can still read Heartstopper online for free if you wish to! We are continuing using the Google form responses in our Book Club posts to get direct thoughts from people who have read it – those who have both been to Book Club or can’t make it but still want to join the conversation. LGBTQ+ Book Club – Girls of Paper and Fire

image1Hello all! In case you didn’t hear, this month’s book club read was Girls of Paper and Fire by Natasha Ngan. It’s an amazing book and I just posted my review on it over the weekend which you can read here. We were excited to jump into this as we haven’t read much (if any) fantasy for our book club just yet. Book Club Night 6 – Noah Can’t Even

BOOHey! So I know it’s super late and we usually post these the week after book club but here is our latest update! For our July-August book we chose to read Noah Can’t Even by Simon James Green. I finally had the pleasure of meeting him at YALC and he is such a lovely man! Sarah has met him before and has said only good things so I was really looking forward to meeting him. Anyway! Onto our book club chats! Continue reading

Book Club Night 4 – Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe

BOOWe chose to read Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe (AADDTSOTU) by Benjamin Alire Sáenz for our fourth LGBTQ+ book club read. Both me and Sarah love this book and (I’ll be honest) with YALC coming up we wanted a familiar one to read so it was easier for our massive TBR piles. Also, many of the people who attend hadn’t read it and since it is one of my all time favourite books, I wanted to spread the brilliance of it. Sarah couldn’t make this month’s meet up as she was away with her partner so I led this one solo which I was kind of nervous about and missed Sarah a lot but it went really well!  Continue reading
