There are a ton of reasons to instantly pick up a book or things that attract you to one over another. It might be broad things like genre or particular authors but there are also little things that are ridiculously specific and niche! I think we all have these instant attractions to a certain type of book and I thought I’d go through some of mine in this post. Continue reading
This is a topic I have spoken to quite a few people about recently and I feel there is quite a bit of judgement from some of the bookish community. Where you buy your books is a debate which has a lot of value. After all, it is important to know if the author and publisher is receiving the money for what they have done. However, I am not okay with people negatively judging people for buying books cheap! This is a slight rant to be honest! Continue reading
Last year, I set some goals for my reading and I completed barely any of these! To be completely honest, I barely even thought about them! I’ve realised that for me, yearly goals aren’t something I find helpful. They didn’t work for me last year and I’m changing the way I’m setting my goals this year. Continue reading
So, i’ve realised that i might have a little bit of a book buying problem. I’ve identified it, admitted it and now i’m working to change it. I have developed some unhealthy habits you might say in the last few years, and i want to talk about that a little bit.

I received so many books as gifts for Christmas and bought quite a few myself in December so I figured it would be a good idea to showcase them a little. Continue reading
I’ve talked a lot about buying second hand books on this blog already. I’ve never been shy about telling you all that most of my books (or a great chunk of them) come from charity shops and second hand in other ways. There are so many reasons why buying second hand is a good thing!
It’s been quite a while since i’ve done a book haul. My lent goal this year was to not buy books while it lasted, and i actually achieved it! However, i may have put some in the store cupboard at work for when it was over, and i also treated myself to a few Amazon purchases in the first hour after it ended. Along with that and being on holiday and some new releases, i’ve managed to acquire quite a few new books in the last month or so. I would by lying if i said i’d remember everything i got, so here’s a snippet of what’s joined my shelves recently.
