For the second year running, my first read of the year is a book from Lisa Williamson and yet again, it’s a wonderful way to start it! I’m super happy to be on the blog tour for First Day of My Life as I genuinely loved the book and enjoyed so many aspects which I will discuss below. To celebrate release week for The Rules by Tracy Darnton, we have hopped on to the blog tour with a whole host of excellent bloggers. Tracy has kindly written a post for us about advent calendars and how they are used in her newly released YA thriller. We haven’t done a ton of blog tours recently but this one jumped out because I’ve been wanting to read Paper Avalanche for quite a while. Sarah loves it and told me I would definitely like it and she was very right! This is the first book of Lisa Williamson’s I’ve read (not including her sections in Floored) and the story was fantastic. We were asked by Charlie at Stripes Publishing to be a part of the blog tour for Proud. Blog Tours are not something we get involved with a whole bunch anymore, but how could we pass up the opportunity to talk about one of our favourite books of the last year?
Floored is officially out for you to buy! Last year at YALC i remember picking up a sampler and being pained about how far away this release felt. Little did i know i had an exciting email to be apart of the Floored blog tour and get involved with the release of it. There have been four posts before mine, and for today’s i’ve written a monologue of my character, Velvet. She’s feisty and all round excellent – i hope you enjoy this little snippet in to her attending the launch party of Floored.
It’s day 4 of our read-along blog tour! If you didn’t know, me and Sophie are hosting a read-along of A Change Is Gonna Come, a BAME anthology all about change. We’ve both been waiting to read this collection for a long time, and reading a story a day means we get to discuss everything together. Which is GREAT!
It’s the first day of our A Change Is Gonna Come read-along and blog tour! I’m so excited to start reading the stories with everyone and especially for some excellent blogs to join in on the fun! I’ve been looking forward to reading this BAME anthology since YALC this year (as there was such a huge hype around it), so it feels great to finally get around to reading the first story.
