I’ve heard about this book by Becky Albertelli for a long, long time and I always meant to pick it up. I finally did buy it in February (mainly because the film was approaching and I needed to get a read on before I saw it!). My girlfriend managed to get us free tickets to an early screening of the adaptation, Love, Simon, at the Vue cinema in Manchester so I was able to see it on the 19th February! I sped read the book the weekend before and had only a few pages left before I sat down ready for the movie. I just want to have a little chat about the book and the film and what I thought about them! Continue reading “Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda Book and Film Chat”
I read Simon Vs The Homosapian Agenda last year, and with the release of Love, Simon the movie this year, i figured it was about time i dipped in to Becky Albertalli’s second novel. It’s Top 5 Wednesday day again! I don’t know where the weeks go because i’m always shocked when it’s time to put up my Wednesday post again! Well this weeks topic is top t non-canon ships. For those of you that don’t spend all your time on the internet, this means the couples that you ‘ship’ that are not actually together in the book. So it could be the main character and their best friend, instead of the main character and their boyfriend/girlfriend. You could even let your heart run wild and ship people from two different worlds or series. I usually stick to what’s written with the pairings that i like in novels, so i’ve had to rack my brains for this one!
I’ve had Simon Vs The Homo Sapiens Agenda on my to be read pile for quite a long time now. When it was first released it seemed to be an incredibly popular choice of novel, and i don’t really know why it took me so long to pick it up. I went in to this novel knowing absolutely nothing about it and i think that’s the right way to do it.
As it is the last day in June, we are celebrating the fact that June has been pride month! This means there are plenty of celebrations for the LGBTQ+ community and everyone around them to show that they are proud of who they are. Being a part of the LGBTQ+ community is important to us on the blog, not just because some of our creators are themselves LGBT, but because it is generally such an accepting and loving group of people to be apart of, we think everyone should have that mind set.
