I’d heard so many lovely things about this book. Constant good reviews and because of this, i wondered why there wasn’t a huge buzz around it like i expected. I was slightly hesitant to pick this up, as it doesn’t seem like something i would instantly love. I was definitely wrong and this deserves to be talked about so much more than it has been.
I was expecting some kind of book haul in February. It’s my birthday, which is a big mix of gifts, treats for myself (surely i’m not the only person who treats themselves on their birthday?) and holidays. I’m going to stop presuming they’ll be no more book hauls and just accept that i really like books. Here are the ones that i got in the month of February, it’s quite a substantial haul.
This month we’ve been really rubbish with our advertisements because of our very busy lives. Which means not many of you will be aware that our LGBTQ+ book club pick for November and December is If I Was Your Girl by Meredith Russo. This novel is one that me and Sophie have both had on our TBR’s for a very long time and one i was particularly excited to get to.

I received an Advanced Readers Copy of Blackbird i exchange for an honest review.
I’ve had my eye on ND Gomes as an author for quite a while. Dear Charlie was her first release last year, and i always found it had an interesting story-arc. When i released ARC’s of Blackbird were circling, i jumped at the chance to grab one.
I picked up Penny Joelson’s debut novel ahead of YALC this year, knowing she was attending. Admittedly, i knew absolutely nothing going in to this book. I’d read the back and although it reveals it’s a mystery, it doesn’t give much more information. However, when you start reading, it reveals a lot quickly.
Every reader has a wish list. Most of us keep them stocked up on Book Outlet or Amazon, and i am no different. I have a lot of books on my wish list that are waiting for me to buy them. Recently i’ve started to only buy books that have been added to my wish list, in order to keep my TBR pile down (ha) and make sure i’m only buying the books that i really do intend on reading. Here’s a little look at my wish list currently!
The next few months seem to be very exciting for new and upcoming books. I never thought i’d have such a busy September, October and November with new releases, but everyone seems to be releasing books at the moment! There are some that i cannot wait to get my hands on. Nicola Yoon, Lauren Oliver and Ransom Riggs are all releasing titles before the year is up. Here is a little list of books that i’m excited about, and you should keep on your radar.
