The best representation I have ever seen of fandoms is in Alice Oseman’s works, particularly I Was Born For This and Radio Silence. I co-read Radio Silence with a few friends recently and we all decided to write a different post celebrating Alice and her work (which we obviously all love!). It’s really hard not to when she writes wonderful stories with wonderful detailing that is hardly ever recognised. LGBTQ+ Book Club – Heartstopper: Volume Two

LGBTQ+ Book Club HeaderLast Thursday we met up for our monthly LGBTQ+ Book Club gathering! In July, we read Heartstopper: Volume One by Alice Oseman and had such a great response we decided to carry on with Volume Two. She created these graphic novels based off her webcomics which are available for free online. We will be mainly focusing on thoughts on Volume Two but some Volume One comments will be in this post too – it can be hard to separate for those who read it online and more people could attend Book Club this month so it was really nice to talk about both! People who made it and people who couldn’t but wanted to share their thoughts joined the conversation on our Google form too.

LGBTQ+ Book Club – Heartstopper: Volume One

LGBTQ+ Book Club HeaderOur latest Book Club meet up was last Thursday, a week later than usual as we were both away in London for YALC the week before. We decided to read Heartstopper: Volume One by Alice Oseman for July, a graphic novel developed from her webcomics. You can still read Heartstopper online for free if you wish to! We are continuing using the Google form responses in our Book Club posts to get direct thoughts from people who have read it – those who have both been to Book Club or can’t make it but still want to join the conversation.
