I picked this book up on a Waterstones trip not too long ago. I’d seen the title announced as one of the books featured at YALC this year, however something kept putting me off. Once i’d read the back and decided it had very clear vibes of The Breakfast Club, i knew i had to read it.

I’ve been meaning to read Carrie for a long time, and after reading The Mist by Stephen King earlier this year, i wanted to try and improve my view on his writing (i wasn’t the biggest fan). Carrie seemed like a good place to start over for me as i absolutely adore the movie adaptations of this novel. I was hoping for something a little more from the book, and in that aspect i wasn’t disappointed.

I picked up Alice and the Fly not to long as a spontaneous purchase. I’ve been trying very hard not to just pick up random books that I’ve not researched in to, because chances are I’ll lose interest very quickly and it would be once big waste of money. But the cover stood out to me and the story sounded interesting so I thought I’d give it a go.
