I know Sarah has posted/tweeted a fair bit about YALC and the books she is reading in preparation but I haven’t really gotten as involved. I’ve been having a break from social media lately and I’ve barely been using it (my replies are shockingly late and I’m sorry!) so I haven’t really posted my YALC TBR or anything much to do with it. I have however been reading a lot to try and get the ones I’m most excited about read. Continue reading
I’ve been making a few posts this year after each YALC author announcement to let you all know how my YALC TBR has been growing. I missed the last one so i figured now that the final announcement has been released, it’s time to wrap up what my YALC TBR actually looks like now.
The day finally came where we started to get announcements for the YALC guests this year. It’s always my favourite time of the reading year when we get some information of what books to be reading before the event in July.
This year for YALC i ended up taking a lot more books than i had bargained for with me to be signed by the attending authors. I really over-estimated how many authors would be attending and how much i’d actually have to read to complete my TBR pile (HERE is my YALC TBR if you didn’t see that). Needless to say, i didn’t complete my TBR pile, but i did get a whole load of books signed!
My YALC book haul from last year looks extremely disappointing next to this years. I made sure when i was there that i set myself a limit on how much i wanted to spend, only got books i really wanted and let myself grab some ARCs i might not normally read to try out some new genres. I met all those criteria, but i still ended up with a lot of books…
As you must know by now, YALC happened in the last weekend of July and is no officially over for 2017! I had such a wonderful time filled with wonderful people and more running than i’ve done all year. I managed to squeeze in near enough all the things i wanted to get done this year, so here is my weekend summed up!
