2017 finished over two weeks ago now, and that means it’s time to wrap up what i read in 2017. Without a doubt 2017 has been my most successful reading year to date. I’ve read the most books i’ve ever read in a year and also found some absolutely incredible ones that have stayed with me throughout those twelve months (a post on this to follow).
The last month of the year is always a tough one for reading when you have a reading challenge looming over you. I for one spent a lot of December panicking about not achieving my reading challenge (spoiler, i did it) so i tried to fit in as many small and easy books as i could.
November brought a lot of reading dread that was heightened by the ever closer end to the reading challenge of 2017. I had a really bad reading month back in October, and i really wanted to improve on it in November to make a final push towards my end of year goal of 52 books. I’m pretty pleased with how this month went, however i know it could have gone a little better. Here’s what i managed to get around to reading…
After my absolutely shocking September reading month, i figured i should probably get my act together in October if i wanted to complete my end of year challenge. As it stands, i still have twelve books to read in the next two months, which is definitely do-able if i actually sit down and focus. Here’s what i read in October.
August was a great reading month for me. It was the month after YALC and that meant i was ridiculously excited about all my new purchases and ARC’s. I was determined to make September a great month too. Well, you can see what happened…
August is the first month after YALC, which means i’m naturally more likely to want to read and i can pick any book from my book shelf without worrying if that author is attending YALC or not and i want to get the book signed. So, i’ve had a pretty good reading month. It’s been like walking in to a book shop and pulling whatever i wanted off the shelves, but in my own home, it’s a whole sense of freedom i forget existed (Dramatic? Probably not).
