A few weeks ago, we got the wonderful opportunity to interview Akemi Dawn Bowman, author of debut novel, Starfish. It’s a beautifully written book which has difficult and heavy themes, such as abuse and mental health struggles. It also features some wonderfully positive relationships too however. I absolutely fell in love with the book when I read it and it is definitely one of my all time favourites. This is the transcript of the interview! Continue reading

An Interview with Lisa Williamson

I’ve been a fan of Lisa for quite some time now. The author of the stunning The Art Of Being Normal and All About Mia, Lisa has now joined the seven authors involved in Floored (I’m apart of the blog tour for the promotion of this book, i can guarantee it will be incredible!) Lisa champions diversity and LGBTQ+ in all her work, and us being a very LGBTQ+ focused blog and having the LGBTQ+ Book Club, i figured who better to ask some questions about writing than Lisa.

Alwyn Hamilton Interview!

A couple of weeks ago, me and Sarah had the opportunity to interview Alwyn Hamilton, author of the Rebel of the Sands series! It was so wonderful to be able to meet her and ask questions and we honestly learned a lot and took away some brilliant writing advice. She is a lovely human being and we had such a wonderful chat! We wanted to know mainly about writing and Alwyn’s process when writing her books. A big thanks to Kimi at Teensgate for the opportunity!

Simon James Green Interview

Simon James Green has quickly become one of my favourite YA authors. It’s been a long time since i laughed out loud (lol’d if you will) at a book, and his debut novel Noah Can’t Even made me do just that. I had the pleasure of meeting Simon at YALC, and after that and the announcement that he is working on a sequel to Noah Can’t Even, i knew i had some questions to ask him.

Interview with ‘Skyscraping’ Author, Cordelia Jensen

My review of Skyscraping went up last week on the blog and you can read it HERE. I read the book recently and absolutely loved the story along with the way it was told in verse. I found it to be captivating and heartbreaking. We are lucky enough to be given the chance to speak to author, Cordelia Jensen about why she writes in verse, who inspires her and the process she goes through when starting a novel. Here’s what she had to say!

Interview with ‘Night Owls’ Author Jenn Bennett

Jenn Bennett

Without a doubt this is one of the most exciting posts we’ve had to offer so far. Jenn Bennett is one of our favourite authors and we luckily got the chance to talk to her and ask her a few questions about her previous novels, writing style and her upcoming novel ‘Alex Approximately’.

Jenn took the YA world by storm last year with the release of her first contemporary novel ‘Night Owls’ (The Anatomical Shape of a Heart) and we both cannot wait to see what the future brings with her writing.

Jenn’s stories are always engaging and have the most incredible characters that you connect with buried deep within them. Here’s what she’s had to say:
