This is a topic I have spoken to quite a few people about recently and I feel there is quite a bit of judgement from some of the bookish community. Where you buy your books is a debate which has a lot of value. After all, it is important to know if the author and publisher is receiving the money for what they have done. However, I am not okay with people negatively judging people for buying books cheap! This is a slight rant to be honest! Continue reading “Where to Buy Books debate (BEDM)”
TBR piles are both a book blogger’s best friend and worst nightmare. Some people love having a TBR pile, some hate it and sometimes it just depends. I definitely fall into the just depends category as sometimes I love the structure of having a TBR for the near future but other times I feel constricted by it. Sometimes, you just really need a day with your best friends. Without a doubt, most of my days with friends are filled with bookish activities, but sometimes, it’s really nice to go out with your bookish friends and do something unbookish! That’s why yesterday me, Sophie and the wonderful Lois from LoisReadsBooks took a little day out.
I bought this book when it came out, ready for an event for it that we attended about a year ago in Doncaster. We went to another, much bigger one recently at HOME in Manchester which Sarah is going to upload a post on soon. I only just read the book before the HOME event after wanting to get round to it for about a year (we all know how we are with our TBR piles…) and I was really looking forward to it because it seemed really relevant to how I had been feeling the past year or so. Read on for my full review! Continue reading “Notes on a Nervous Planet by Matt Haig (BEDM)”
With my long commutes to work, I’ve been reading a lot more but also listening to more podcasts. AGES ago I did a post called Podcast Series where I planned to start talking about podcasts I enjoy; bookish or other. I didn’t follow through but I’m back with it again now! I’ve struggled to know when I am best listening to podcasts and I’ve now cracked it and it’s best when I’m travelling or walking. This post is about one of my current favourites! Continue reading “Podcast Series: #WizardTeam (BEDM)”
Hello all! It’s Blog Every Day in May (BEDM) and we are going to be joining the trend. However, slight difference – we may blog every other day in May as this crept up on us and we are both very busy eggs! Let’s see how we do though – I’m definitely making the effort to try and write as many posts this month as I can. I’ve been feeling pretty inspired to write recently which has been fab so I’m going to take advantage of that. Anyway! First BEDM post is a review of My So-Called Bollywood Life by Nisha Sharma, which is released in the UK tomorrow! Continue reading “My So-Called Bollywood Life by Nisha Sharma (BEDM)”
