January has been a much better reading month than i ever thought it would be. I’ve gotten in to the swing of reading again, and picking up a book is giving me a lot of joy at the moment (which is good because i have a lot to get through). January can go two ways for me usually, a really great reading month, or a questionable one. Here’s what i read in January 2021.
Punching The Air by Ibi Zoboi & Yusef Salaam
The Man With The Dancing Eyes by Sophie Dahl
Do You Dream Of Terra Two? by Temi Oh
This space adventure has been on my TBR for the longest time, and i finally got to co-read it with my boyfriend. Temi’s debut novel follows a group of young adults trained to find settlement on a new planet. I really loved the pace of this book, and the characters were really fun to follow. I have a full review HERE if you want to check it out.
The Right Swipe by Alisha Rai
Gut Feelings by C.G. Moore
Gut Feelings is the wonderful verse novel released in January by Chris. It’s his second book, and follows a lot of his personal story from childhood. I loved Gut Feelings more than i thought possible, and i’m glad i got to read about some snippets from Chris’ life. I learnt a lot from this book and would highly recommend anyone to pick it up, especially if you like verse!
Carol by Patrica Highsmith
Ghosts by Dolly Alderton
My surprise love from January was Ghosts. I haven’t read anything by Dolly Alderton before so this was definitely a first, and definitely a cover buy. The story is about Nina, a woman in her mid-thirties still trying to find the love of her life through a dating app. It has huge Fleabag vibes for me, and the entire reading experienced seemed to fly by. Although i didn’t fully connect to any of the characters, i really enjoyed reading about them all.
