A Lock Down Book Haul

Haul HeaderI’ve been saying for months i won’t be getting any more books, and to be fair, there wasn’t a book haul last month! But recent world events mean that i’ve caved and got a small book haul to see me through the next few months.

I won’t lie, i book shopped because i missed the feeling of new books. Of going in to a book store and picking up books to look at, seeing what was new and i really wanted to spend a couple of hours browsing book sites to remember those sweet times. So naturally, i went on those sites and i bought books. Also the small thrill i got from unboxing new books made me incredibly happy, and if you can’t make yourself happy now when can you!?

I picked up some books that i’ve been interested in for a while, and also more adult fiction books as i’ve been feeling the genre a lot more recently. I think my stint of reading Becky Chambers books helped me dive back in to general fiction, and i’m really enjoying it.

The books that i got from a couple of different sites are reflecting what i want to read at the moment i think, and the complete escapism that i’m really needing. I got:

  • The Test by Sylvain Neuvel
  • Jackpot by Nic Stone
  • Where The Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens
  • Rick by Alex Gino
  • Most Likely by Sarah Waton
  • Rules For Being A Girl by Candace Bushwell & Katie Cotugno
  • The Song Of Achilles by Madeline Miller
  • Gods of Jade and Shadow by Silva Moreno-Garcia
  • Run, Rebel by Manjeet Mann
  • The Eve Illusion by Tom & Giovanna Fletcher

Those are the few books that i picked up this month. I won’t be getting anymore, because as you will see from my wrap-up, i’m doing quite well reading my back list at the moment, and i’m really enjoying picking up any book and trying it out from my shelves.

Did you buy any books this month? Or what book do you think i should pick up first?
