LGBTQ+ Book Club Update

LGBTQ+ Book Club Header

So it’s been a hot minute since we wrote a little Book Club update! Last year we luckily had the chance to start our own book club in Manchester city centre, with people that actually want to come and talk to us about books! It’s been absolutely lovely!

We have done a few posts about book club which have been about the nights and what the general thoughts of our monthly book was, and i know we’ve slacked a little bit on them at the moment. However, in 2019 we are back and better than ever with our book club content!

Myself and Sophie are both really proud of getting our little LGBTQ+ club together once a month to talk about LGBTQ+ books. It’s nice to have like-minded people to talk to about books that we all love (or hate, there have been some of those) and let’s face it, let it fall in to a rant about LGBTQ+ issues and life updates. It’s turned in to a really lovely set of people who are friends, and we couldn’t be happier and are always welcoming to new members.

One of the changes we’re making this year is to move the date of it – originally we had it on the first week of every month, however we are thinking of moving it to the last week of every month as of January. Our first meeting of the year will be on the…

Chapter One Books in Manchester

We meet at 7pm and everyone is welcome to come join us to talk about LGBTQ+ books! Our book club pick for this month is A Long Way To A Small Angry Planet by Becky Chambers, which means you’ve got nearly a whole month to read it!

I cannot wait to get it started again this year, it’s going to be great to see where we can take our little club with a whole year of it being running. I also want to say a huge thank you to those who come every month and have made a real effort with us to help us create this little group. It’s something Sophie and I had always dreamed of putting out in the world.

If you have any questions, leave them in the comments or contact us on Twitter!

Happy Reading! We hope to see you at book club!
