Most Anticipated 2019 Releases (Blogmas)

New Releases Header

I gave up quite early on in my blogging career doing anticipated releases. Half of that was because so many people were doing them i feel like every release was being covered. And half of it was that i’d talk about these books i was ridiculously excited about and i would be put to shame when months later i still hadn’t read them. As it is the end of the year and we’re in to Blogmas, i feel like it’s only appropriate to share the books that i’m most excited about that are being released in the first half of 2019.

I am actually excited about a whole host of books being released in 2019, and my goal for next year is to actually read them within the year! Because lets face it, that doesn’t happen as often as it should do.

January 2019

One of my most excited releases for next year is Two Can Keep A Secret by Karen M. McManus. I absolutely adored her first novel so i cannot wait to dive in to her second. I’ve chosen to not know anything about this story so i can go in and be surprised. Another book i’m extremely excited for it Kick The Moon by Muhammad Khan. I Am Thunder was one of my favourite books of 2018 and after meeting Muhammad at YALC this year it’s only made me more excited to see what his next book is like!

February 2019

Obviously, one of my most anticipated books of 2019 is On The Come Up by Angie Thomas. Luckily enough, it’s released in Feburary so it’s not too long before i can get my hands on it. The story follows Bri and her up coming career as one of the great rappers. The Hate U Give is absolutely stunning, so i’m sure this will be incredible too. There’s so many contemporary books that i’m excited about, including Fierce Fragile Hearts by Sara Barnard. I love Sara’s writing and she writes the most perfect contemporary stories with a twist!

March 2019

There are a few releases i’m excited for in March. Defy Me by Tarhereh Mafi is released, and also the second novel in the Legacy of Orisha series by Tomi Adeyemi. However, Lauren James’ next novel, The Quiet At The End Of The World is released in March and this is one i’m absolutely thrilled about.

May 2019

April is a quiet month for me, with nothing being released that i’m incredibly interested in. In May there’s a few very exciting releases, one of them being Finale by Stephanie Garber, the end to the Caraval series which i have loved for the last few years! And also With The Fire On High by Elizabeth Acevedo is released in May which i’m incredibly excited about after reading The Poet X. A debut that i’m thrilled about is I Wish You All The Best by Mason Deaver. This is a book that been hovering around Twitter for a while already, but i have to wait at least another five months for it! It deals with non-binary and also anxiety which i cannot wait to read about!

That’s about all for my list of anticipated books so far in 2019. Obviously they’ll be some more added to the list as the year starts and more get announced, but that’s quite a strong list to start the year off with!

If you’re excited about any of these books, or any others, leave them in the comments!

Happy Reading!
