The end of the year is fast approaching and that gives me time to think about all the books that i’ve read (or not read) in 2017. I’m with everyone else in the wondering where the year has gone this time. However, i’m more than excited to leave this years reading behind and start a whole new year of reading.
This year i came across The End Of Year Book Tag, created by Ariel Bissett, one of my favourite booktubers! These questions are all based around the books you’ve read in the year and what books are coming up for you in the new year. As i said, i’m spent a lot of time looking over what i’ve been reading this year recently, so i’m excited to answer these questions.
Are there any books you started this year that you need to finish?
I’ve started quite a few books this year that i’ve not finished yet. It’s become a really bad habit in the last few years. This Book Is Gay by Juno Dawson is one that i really would like to finish.
Do you have an autumnal book to transition into the end of the year?
This year i’m completely focusing on the best way to reach my Goodreads challenge, so i haven’t really thought about what i’m going to read. The way i’ve been working the last few months is reading what i feel like reading, so then i know it will get read! If anyone has any autumnal book recommendations that would be great!
Is there a new release you’re still waiting for?
No more new releases i’m waiting for sadly! I seemed to have a huge burst of new releases early this year, and none now! I have a few 2018 releases i’m really excited for, but nothing in the immediate future.
What are three books you want to read before the end of the year?
I really would love to get around to Everless by Sara Holland before the end of the year, as it is released in early 2018. However, to be honest that might not happen. I also have a ridiculous idea about starting the Northern Lights trilogy before the end of the year. Again i don’t think that will happen. My end of year schedule for reading is pretty open at this point. My main goal is to just finish my reading challenge.
Is there a book you think could still shock you and become your favourite book of the year?
My favourite books of 2017 have made such a strong impact on me that i don’t think any book could suddenly creep up my favourites list. There were two or three books that i absolutely adored this year, so most likely nothing will top them.
Have you already started making reading plans for 2018?
My main reading plan for next year is to read one more book than i’ve read this year. From now on i want my goal to be to read one book more than the previous year. in 2016 i read a total of 47 books, so i’ve definitely gone over my goal for 2017!
Other than that, i really want to read some more classics. I know setting a goal of say 5 classics is going to be too much for me, so one of my plans is to just ‘read more classics.’ I also want to be a little more picky about what i read, and make sure that i’m only reading books i genuinely think i will enjoy or that have been highly recommended to me.
