It’s been a very very long time since i introduced myself on the blog. Back when i first created this blog i think i might have uploaded a ‘get to know me’ post with some information about myself, however absolutely nothing since then. Since it’s nearly Christmas and i am once again posting every single day, i figured it would be a good idea to re-introduce myself.
Since i started this blog, i’ve grown up a lot. I’ve changed a lot in every aspect of my life. I started blogging over two years ago now, i think it was between my second and third year of University where i studied English Language with Creative Writing. Most people grow up a hell of a lot within this time. I was twenty years old when i started the blog and i am now twenty-two.
In that amount of time i have written a whole dissertation on The Catcher In The Rye, graduated from University with an upper second, changed jobs five times and been in and out of four different relationships. So many things in between that have happened.
One of my biggest passions is charity work. I have done numerous jobs within Oxfam the charity, and i now work for Mind, the mental health charity. I absolutely adore my job and feel great about helping so many people. It also is really nice to give something back to a company that have helped me out personally in the past with mental health issues. I have a great team behind me and i’m extremely happy in this company. I’ve also had the opportunity to work in somewhat less impactful jobs such as a dessert bar and ice-cream parlor. Here i have met some incredible people who have opened my eyes to so much more in life.
In my personal life, i’ve been battling with a change in pronouns and labeling identity. Back when i made this blog i identified as bi-sexual and binary. I am still playing around a lot with labels and what i feel most comfortable with, but so far i am identifying as pansexual and genderqueer. My pronouns are ‘she’, ‘her’ and ‘they’, and so far i’m happy with these.
I’ve done a lot of thinking in the past year about where i want to take my life. I’m only twenty two but i feel like i’m running out of time in my twenties to figure out what i want to do with my life. I’m currently trying to fill my time with a lot of education, learning whatever i can and gathering any skill i can find. I’m looking in to starting further education in creative writing, however am also learning more about being a successful manager in a store environment. I just want to fill my brain with as much as humanly possible!
In the last few years my reading habits have changed a little. From needing noise to read now-a-days, to getting very bored of YA easily, my reading has definitely changed. I cannot wait to see how my reading develops as i get older and grow as a person.
