July 2017 Wrap-Up

Wrap Up Header

In June i ended up having a really great reading month, i think that was definitely because YALC stress was setting in. At the start of July i was hopeful for another really great reading month as YALC was the last weekend of the month. Sadly it’s now been and gone (keep an eye out for the mass amount of YALC posts coming your way), but for now, here are the books that i managed to cram in before the end of the month.

The One Memory Of Flora Banks by Emily Barr
I started my month off with another YALC read that i ended up getting through quite quickly. I didn’t expect The One Memory Of Flora Banks to be a thriller, but that’s just what it is. The writing of this story was nothing short of incredible. Lines and paragraphs that shouldn’t work, did and were pulled off very well and really pulled the story together. I ended up really enjoying this book, although not what i expected. My full review will be up very soon!

Doing It by Hannah Witton
I started Doing It last month as my extra non-fiction read, and i was instantly hooked. I really loved the chatty style to this informative book on sex, relationships and everything in between. Hannah added some bonus content from her author friends when she felt as though she didn’t have enough information or experience with something, which gave so many people voice in one book. Doing It has quickly become one of my favourite non-fiction books.

One Of Us Is Lying by Karen M.McManus
The Breakfast Club with death. That’s why i picked this book up. The characters aren’t very diverse, but they’re very different from one and other which made for a very interesting story. As a mystery thriller, it does keep you guessing and the story is very well planned. It took me a long time to get through this book, much longer than usual, but i talk more about that in the full review i have going up soon!

I also started at the end of the month Flight Of A Starling by Lisa Heathfield and This Book Is Gay by Juno Dawson. As this was right before YALC i sadly didn’t get chance to finish them before the end of the month! The pages will be included in my stats for those two books, but not the total of books!
