TBR 2017

TBR Header

My ‘to be read’ pile for 2017 seems to be getting bigger and bigger, and all i want when i look at my book shelves is to be able to inhale all the books so i can read everything faster (does anyone else get that feeling?). I have some books that have been on my TBR pile for years, and some new releases that i really hope to get around to in 2017.

I never set myself monthly TBR goals (an actual post on this is coming soon i promise) because they just don’t work out for me at all, however, i usually set myself a little goal of what i want to read in the next year. These lists have to be small and realistic because i am quite a slow reader and do not generally achieve THAT much in a year in terms of reading goals. There are plenty of books that i want to get to in 2017, so here are just a few that are on the top of my TBR pile.

Caraval by Stephanie Garber
This has been on my list for quite some time. I tried my best and failed to get a proof copy while it was going around in the last few months, however could not. I’m quite excited for the release of this magical novel in January. I have also booked myself in for one of the author nights in the UK, so cannot wait to hear more about what Stephanie has to say about her debut novel.

Rebellion (The 100) by Kass Morgan
I recevived this book for Christmas in 2016 just after its release. In 2016 i became massively obsessed with Kass Morgan and all things The 100, so when i found out that there was going to be a forth book in the series, i jumped on the chance of getting it for a Christmas present. This will be right at the top of my 2017 list!

Salt To The Sea by Ruta Sepetys
I read Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys in 2016 and completely fell in love with it. Salt To The Sea is her much more well known works, many people talk about it and it’s become quite the modern classic YA novel. I bought a copy of it in summer and really want to get around to reading it.

Asking For It by Louise O’Neill
When i first found out about this novel about a year ago, i was dying to get my hands on a copy. In the summer of 2016 i finally got one, and i still haven’t read it…I cannot believe i’ve waited this long, and i’m disappointed in myself. It will finally be getting read early on in 2017, i will make sure of it.

That’s my short little list for 2017 so far. I mean i could definitely get these done in the first month and then move on to all the other books that need reading. But the chances of me doing that are very slim. I also did my Top 5 Wednesday a few weeks ago on the books i want to get read next year. HERE it is!

What books are on your TBR for 2017?
