I really did hope that my wrap-up in November would be a lot better, i thought with Christmas nearing (and our Christmas read-along) it would push me to get as much read as possible. In reality, i’ve been in a bit of a reading slump and have had a very unusually busy social life, leaving very little time to get stuck in to a book. Here are the few books that i managed to pick up this month.
At the beginning of the month i picked up Carrie by Stephen King as a part of our Halloween Read-Along. I started off getting through the novel quickly, i’ve seen the movie numerous times and know the story, so this seemed like an easy read for me. However, as i always do with Stephen King novels, i started to slow down and slow down until i basically don’t pick it up for a week. I really did enjoy reading Carrie, it was a completely different experience to the movie version of the story. I have a full review of my thoughts HERE if you want to know more.
Then i managed to finish Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them by J.K. Rowling. I picked this up right after i watched the movie (which was incredible) but was a little disappointing to learn it was yet another screen play. I had hyped myself up for a full novel, i’m not sure why. But i really did enjoy reading the screenplay as i enjoy writing scripts myself. It also made the story really quick to read, and i feel like i needed a quick read to get myself back in to the swing of reading. This story is based upon J.K. Rowlings companion book to the Harry Potter franchise ‘Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them’.
I have also started reading Dash and Lily’s Book Of Dares by David Levithan and Rachel Cohen this month, however i’ve not gotten around to finishing it.
So there is my really poor excuse of a wrap-up for November. Hopefully December will give me a much better chance at reading, or i’m just going to push myself to get some books read before new year!
