It’s Top 5 Wednesday day again! I don’t know where the weeks go because i’m always shocked when it’s time to put up my Wednesday post again! Well this weeks topic is top t non-canon ships. For those of you that don’t spend all your time on the internet, this means the couples that you ‘ship’ that are not actually together in the book. So it could be the main character and their best friend, instead of the main character and their boyfriend/girlfriend. You could even let your heart run wild and ship people from two different worlds or series. I usually stick to what’s written with the pairings that i like in novels, so i’ve had to rack my brains for this one!
Lara-Jean and Josh from To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han
Throughout this duology (i know there is a third being written) i always routed for Lara-Jean and Josh to end up together. I absolutely loved their dynamic and how much Josh cared for Lara-Jean. I could not have been more gutted about the ending of the novels, but they’re written a certain way for a reason. In my head it will always be Lara-Jean and Josh.
Maddy from You’re The One That I Want and Billy from Billy and Me by Giovanna Fletcher
A little part of me has always wondered what would happen if these two books were merged. I absolutely adore Giovanna’s writing and these two books are my favourites. The friendship dynamic of You’re The One That I Want would be so interesting if Billy was thrown in to the mix. I would love to see Ben and Rob interact with Billy and have Billy fight for Maddy’s love too. I fully believe that Maddy would end up with Billy.
Patrick from The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky and Simon from Simon VS The Homosapien’s Agenda by Becky Albertalli
The more i think about these two characters, the more i absolutely want to see them in their own story. They would be the power couple of the school. Simon is a very shy character, similar to Charlie in a lot of ways. I think Patrick would be a good influence on Simon and would bring him out of himself a little more. Patrick and Simon will always be one of my favourite fictional couples, sadly, they have never met.
Evie Snow and Vincent Winters from On The Other Side by Carrie Hope Fletcher
I don’t think i know anyone who has read On The Other Side that doesn’t wish that Evie and Vincent ended up together. They were together earlier on in the novel and were the perfect couple. Reading about their cosy life in their small apartment made me dream about the future and the perfect relationships that were (very unlikely) waiting to happen. They made me fall in love with love again. Sadly, they did not end up together and we were all very sad about it. They’re my top shipped couple of 2016.
Violet from A Series Of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket and Enoch from Miss Peregrines Home For Peculiar Children by Ranson Riggs
This pairing are kind of a new thing for me. I think Violet and Enoch would be a cute little friendship/relationship. Violet is such an interesting character, she’s intelligent without being cocky. I think Enoch’s arrogance would be an attraction for Violet and they would have quite a competitive relationship. I just can’t get out of my head that these two would be very adorable together.
