This weeks Top 5 Wednesday is books that i’ll never read. This was quite a difficult list to make because there aren’t a whole lot of books that i’m sure that i’ll never read. I try and be quite open with my opinions, more so now than ever because some of my favourite books in the past few years have been out of my comfort zone. However, i’m sure everyone has a few books that they know they will never ever pick up, here are mine.
Twilight by Stephanie Meyer
When i was younger, i completely missed the Twilight boat. I was so far past it that my mum went through the phase instead of me. I only managed to get around to watching the movies about a month ago. The idea of vampires and werewolves does not appeal to me in the slightest as well. I feel like it’s safe to say i will not be picking Twilight up.
Lord Of The Rings by J.R.R. Tolkin
This is a similar situation to Twilight. I was never interested as a child in Lord Of The Rings, which mean i’ve never picked up a novel. As all The Hobbit movies were released, i made my way through the franchise. I also plan on picking up The Hobbit at some point in my life! However Lord Of The Rings seems so long winded and dull to be, i can’t imagine i’ll ever read it.
Allegiant by Veronica Roth
I’ve read the first two novels in the Divergent trilogy, and i have the third sitting on my shelf waiting to be read (as i have for a few years now). I cannot see myself picking it up. I absolutely loved the first novel and lost a lot of interest during the second. I’ve head a lot of mixed things about the last installment, and i know the ‘big twist’ which is the worst kept secret in YA novel history. I’ve lost interest and there is no reason for me to read it now.
City Of Bones by Cassandra Clare
This is a series that, as a 21 year old woman, i’m completely refusing to read. I’ve heard amazing things about it, and The Mortal Instruments are incredibly loved novels, however i don’t think i’ll have any interest in them. The writing seems messy and the plot not very well thought out. I don’t understand the hype and i never will do.
A Game Of Thrones by George R.R. Martin
I’ve never seen the TV show and I’ve never picked up one of the books. The whole idea of Game Of Thrones doesn’t interest me in the slightest, so i know that i’ll never pick up a copy of it. The books are a huge commitment, so long with so many characters and names and places, i don’t think my mind is up to it.
Twilight also made my list! I just can’t do it!
My T5W! 😀
