BOOKTUBE-A-THON 2016

Readathon Header

The time is almost upon us when loads of readers manically try to read as much as humanly possible in seven days, along with completing seven tasks. This is also known as BookTube-A-Thon! This years event will be taken place on between July 18th and July 24th, just enough time left for you to get your TBR piles prepared!

BookTube-A-Thon is hosted by ArielBissett over on YouTube and is a week long event that helps readers to get the most out of their TBR piles during the summer. It’s a way in which the reading community can come together to do what we do best; read!

Each year there are seven tasks set by Ariel. This years are:

1.Read a book with yellow on the cover.
2. Read a book only after sunset.
3. Read a book you discovered through booktube.
4. Read a book by one of your favourite authors.
5. Read a book that is older than you.
6. Read and watch a book-to-movie adaptation.
7. Read seven books.

These little challenges are not necessary to complete, they are in place to help you get the most out of your reading experience if you wish to. And as well, they’re just a little bit of fun during a whole manic week of reading. An easy way to get most of them done is to mix and match challenges. For example you could read a book that’s older than you with a yellow cover. That’s two challenges down in one!

I wasn’t planning on participating this year as i happen to be away for three days right in the middle of the week with no chance to read. However i might try and do a few of the challenges and pick and choose how i play along this year.

If you want more information on BookTube-A-Thon and more importantly want to join in, there is a  very helpful YouTube account and Twitter that you can explore for yourselves!

Happy reading and let us know what’s on your BookTube-A-Thon TBR pile!
