I know I said that May was the month of absolutely no book buying, however we took a trip out to my favourite village which has some of my favourite shops to get cheap books in. I had some birthday money left so I picked up a few books that ended up being really great deals and incredibly cheap! All of these books cost me less than £10 and I found some books that I’ve had my eye on for a long time. It was a really successful shopping trip!
A Court Of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas
I’ve wanted this Beauty and The Beast retelling for so long and I found a super cheap copy in one of the charity shops while I was out. The second book in the series has just been released and hopefully I can read it in time to join the hype for that one.
How To Be Both by Ali Smith
I already own a copy of this award winning novel, however mine was a little battered paperback. I found a perfect condition hardback copy of it for 90p! I had to rebuy it. My first copy is being returned to charity.
Wonder by R.J. Palacio
My best friend has been talking about this novel for years now. All I know is that it is about a young boy who has a facial disfigurement and just wants to be normal. The idea of it sounds interesting and finding a perfect condition copy cheap, i decided to pick it up!
Silver Linings Playbook by Matthew Quick
I went to see the movie of this years ago now, and i found it to be quite average. But i’ve heard numerous times that the novel is much better than the big screen adaptation. I’ve been searching for a cheap copy for some time and i finally found one in perfect condition!
Black Eyed Susans by Julia Heaberlin
For a long time I’ve had my eye on this novel when I’ve been looking in supermarkets and things, and I don’t really know why I never picked it up. However we ventured in to my favourite second hand bookshop today and there was a hardback, near perfect copy for just £2.50! I feel like it was my subconscious all this time telling me not to buy it!
Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult
I seem to have an obsession with Jodi Picoult novels, however I’ve never read any of them! I own about six now and I think I should get around to reading some of them! I picked up nineteen minutes after hearing incredible things online about this story based around a school shooting. I cannot wait to get in to this story as I’ve never read anything like it before.
So that concludes my pretty short but very cheap and successful book haul! Don’t forget to check your local second hand book stores and charity shops for the best deals!
What a wonderful like of new books! I’ve been meaning to read Silver Linings Play Book for a while now, I also saw the movie and heard great things about the book!

Always prefer used book stores. Alas there are none near me but there are always online stores. Hope you love Maas’s books.
