It’s coming to that time of year again when all the great and powerful authors we have grown to love (and sometimes hate, seriously why did you kill her off?!) are coming together to talk all things bookish. Bookcon and Book Expo America are just around the corner. I’m not lucky enough to go to either of these events (no matter how much I’ve priced up and dreams about flying across the sea) but this weeks Top 5 Wednesday is 5 authors that I’d love to meet at these events, I’ll make it easy and say all of these authors will be at Bookcon. A girl can dream.
Leigh Bardugo
There’s quite a bit of controversy around the Grisha Trilogy. I’ve heard a lot of mixed reviews around recently, but I’m nearing the end of Shadow and Bone and I think it’s becoming one of my favorite fantasy series. Admittedly for people who like high fantasy, it’s probably a little tame and ‘YA’ish.’ However I’m really enjoying it and I’d love to meet the woman behind the story.
David Levithan
I’ve been lucky enough to meet David Levithan before when he did a book signing in my city. He is genuinely one of the most lovely people and we had a chat about how my copy of Boy Meets Boy is the really old American edition, to which he asked ‘how the hell did you get hold of this? I didn’t know they still did them.’ He’s been one of my most positive author experiences to date and I’d love to get the chance to meet him again.
Jenny Han
I want to meet Jenny Han just to see what she’s like as a person. All her books are very cutesy and girly and I want to see how that portrays to her as a person. I’m just very intrigued about her.
Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff
This pair are the authors of Illuminae. It’s such a stunning book that I don’t think this needs any explanation for why I want to meet them.
Meg Cabot
Meg Cabot is the author of the Princess Diaries. Every little girl loved the Princess Diaries and it surely enhanced everyone’s obsessions with becoming a princess. I’d love to meet Meg Cabot just to have that little bit of my childhood restored. Plus it might be a nice break from some of the other fantasy authors I want to meet!
There were so many people that I’d kill to meet at these conventions, but sadly I have no money to spend travelling and hotels and food and everything else involved. One day, I will be at Bookcon.
Top 5 Wednesday was started on Good Reads and can be done by any blogger or vlogger! HERE is the information if you want to join in!

I didn’t have any of these authors on my list, mainly because I haven’t read their books, but I’ve heard really good things! Great list!
