I hope everyone’s had a fantastic Christmas and it’s given you plenty of time to get reading! We’ve taken a break over the few festive days from our read-along posts, but fear not – we are back!
I actually have finished The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe and did so before Christmas even began! I wanted to spend my excessive amounts of time over Christmas doing nothing actually doing something and getting some other books read I really needed to get to! As I result I managed to finish our read-along book in just over a day!
The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe really is a fast read and I really enjoyed it overall. It’s not something I could read every year I think and I won’t be in a mad hurry to read the rest of the series right away. However I did enjoy the magical, snowy world a few days before Christmas arrived.
In a previous post I pointed out how much I didn’t like Lucy. Sadly, she is the main character of the novel and she’s always there. However I took to Susan, her older sister and attached myself to her throughout the story. I don’t know whether that’s because I’m much, much older than Lucy or not – but I just couldn’t take to her!
Overall I did enjoy the book but I’ll talk about that more in the review in a few days’ time!
There’s still a few days left of the read-along so if you haven’t picked up your copy yet you do still have chance! Or if you’re just enjoying our updates of the book that’s absolutely great!
It’s Sophie’s turn to update again tomorrow so keep an eye out for that!
