Halloween Read-Along Day 3

Readalong Header

Day three and its getting SO GOOD! I’ve hit just over the 150 page mark and I must say that I’m completely hooked. I honestly struggling a little to slow down and make it last until next Wednesday.

I said in my last post that I wasn’t entirely sure what the actually story was about when I started the novel. I knew it was about a children’s home that was a little creepy, but that’s as far as my knowledge went. The story is much different to what I expected it to be as a whole. There are a lot of twists and turns that are coming to life where I am in the novel right now, and it’s making the whole thing a lot more exciting than I expected!

The one really exciting thing that I keep thinking about whilst reading is the fact that the movie is due for release. Not often do I get excited about book to movie releases but I’m starting to see that this Tim Burton adaptation could really be something special. I can already imagine the gloomy settings and the strange costumes that will fit so perfectly with the book.

Talking about that for any longer will make my heart get fuzzy with excitement so I’ll leave it there. I’m not sure if I will be continuing straight on with Hollow City after I’ve finished Home for Peculiar Children. Maybe one book after the other might be too heavy (plus I have a tone of things to read for University!)

I’m off to bed to get comfortable with my book again! I will leave you in Sophie’s hands for tomorrows post!
